At the end of the shooting season there always is a feeling of sadness in our household and I am always left trying to find ways of extending the good feelings for just a little bit longer. This year I am in luck as Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday meaning we could grab a bit of time away in the Countryside. There are always great dilemmas with this, in where to go and most importantly what to wear. So here are a few ideas hoping that they help to extend your good feelings after the shooting season.
What to wear ?
Having such a busy life at home, we tend to enjoy a proper relaxing break, so gorgeous smart classics are a must – where I can look suitable whatever the day throws at me. My favourites this season are:
An absolute must have, The Mayfair Coat
Beautifully styled 3/4 length down filled coat with fur trimmed hood. On trend, warm and smart enough for any occasion !
RM Williams Kimberley Boots
These boots are fantastically comfortable. The cuban heel adds a stylish touch and are hand finished to RM Williams exacting standards
Schoffel Islington Gilet
The Islington Gilet is a smart quilted waistcoat with rib knit side panels and a high collar. A stunningly feminine fit and looks beautiful over any shirt in this midnight blue.
With such staples one could go anywhere but for me the following places would be my top three are:
For Spa Lovers
The Greenway Hotel and Spa, Cheltenham is hard to beat. The break includes a glass of Champagne each before dinner, gourmet 5 course tasting menu, a 55 minute treatment each and Full English breakfast.
For Family Lovers
Now not all of us are quite ready to leave the family behind in the name of escape but undoubtedly the best break I have ever had with William was at Moonfleet Manor, Weymouth in Dorset. It is a fabulous family friendly and pet friendly hotel. A fantastic combination of family days out walking on along the coastline (just on the door step), playing in the pool and of course taking advantage of the children activities in the soft play area as well as looking forward to letting the baby listening service take away the worry whilst we enjoyed a romantic meal for two, perfect for those wanting to relax but to keep everyone near.
For Romantic Relaxation
The Spread Eagle Hotel, Midhurst is hard to beat. Dating back to 1430 it is the quintessentially English historic luxury hotel, retaining its heritage yet providing every contemporary comfort. Stepping into the hotel is like taking a journey back in time. Relax in the comfortable leather chairs of the 15th-century lounge with its ancient oak beams and leaded-light windows perfect for just curling up by the fire with a glass of bubbly and the old man!!
